From a cram school teacher in Japan

Profile

I have been working as a cram school teacher in Japan for 15 years.

A cram school is a place that focuses on preparing students to pass exams.

Through years of thinking deeply about improving academic performance, raising test scores, and understanding human traits, I’ve realized there are essential and non-essential factors for success.

Moreover, I’ve discovered that these principles not only apply to academics but can also be used in other areas of life.

Hints for living a better life can actually be found in studying.

Whether it’s work, communication, or maintaining health, the lessons learned from studying are surprisingly universal.

With this realization, I decided to start writing blog posts to share these ideas with people around the world.

Below is a timeline of my learning journey:

・Age 3: Started attending Kumon, a worksheet-based learning system
・Age 9: Began attending a cram school to prepare for entrance exams and stopped Kumon
・Age 12: Took junior high school entrance exams
・Age 15: Took high school entrance exams
・Age 18: Took university entrance exams
・Age 22: Graduated from university and started working as a cram school teacher

Having spent my life surrounded by exams, studying, and cram schools, I have come to understand the essence of learning.

Through this blog, I aim to share that essence with you.
